Greasbrough has 2,038 inhabitants and 2,270 acres of land belonging to Earl FitzWilliam. It is located two miles north of Rotherham. Greasbrough has a gothic-style church called St. Mary's, which was completed in 1828. A schoolroom is built into the rear lower part of the building. There are also Wesleyan and Independent chapels, also with attached schools. There is a main school in Greasbrough named Greasbrough Junior & Infant School, situated on Munsbrough Rise. This also has a nursery in the same building, starting from the age of 3. Greasbrough also has a football team called Greasbrough Youth, with players from ages 6.
