Movement therapy no matter which kind, yoga, dance or martial arts and Tai Chi have preset movements and when we are young the benefits are minimal but as we age and tend to do alot of sitting our muscles adapt to sitting or say standing and tend to forget our range of motion we had as a youth(play). That is one very good reason to include a good form in your daily rituals to help prevent injury and keep range of motion.
