in the west usually many people think of their waist as being ~ around their naval area but what they are refering to as the waist in Tai Chi is higher up more in line with the ming men ~ T12? The ming men itself is very important in practicing Tai Chi.

But isn't Ming Men (Du4) between L2 and 3?

sorry, I was in a hurry when I wrote, never enough time. I should have had 2 posts- one that says the waist is higher than most people think and the hips are kept mostly still and the 2nd post the mingmen is vip in most styles of Taichi for application.
