In many systems of TC as we turn our waist our nose and naval should remain in a vertical line so that we are not moving body parts seperately (integrated strength)and have a feeling of being pulled up on the top of the head (Bai Hui,sp?). In Wu style when facing forward the nose, knee and big toe form a vertical line.
