Hi folks, I know there has been a thread on this in the distant past but I need some advice please. As a holistic therapist I am looking at setting up a small Holistic Wellbeing group from my home, no charge.
I have been researching Qui Gong for a while and would like to incorporate this into sessions, however, I don't seem to be able to find anywhere in the North East that offers training.
Also I would be interested in hearing from those who have undertaken training in this, how long did it take, costs etc., etc.,
If I can't find any training what are your views on just watching youtube videos? I am only looking at offering basic warm up but can I do this without 'official qualifications'
I have found a few on-line, one in particular stood out to me and I have tried to make contact but as yet, no response her name was Rosemary Biraghi she appears to be very good but It would be better to have actual training or even a DVD instead of just youtube.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks
Views but no replies, Tashinie I thought you had experience in this? Anyone?
Only just seen your post jeannie! My teacher works in Hinckley Leicestershire and she is the only teacher I know. However have you tried contacting the national Tai Chi organisation? they should be able to point you in the direction of a local teacher. I don't think you should offer anything without being qualified personally. With no qualification you won;t be insured....and I don't think it is a good idea to offer any service without appropriate insurance
My training took 6 days over 3 weekends , and cost me 480.00
I suppose you could do it with BSY:
Not a recommendation as such.
Thanks both, thing is I don't want to teach it as such, I am holding holistic get togethers and wanted to incorporate some of the QuiGong simple exercise movements as warm ups/movement for 5 mins or so.
I have come up against a brick wall from every instructor I have emailed, all those listed under organisations all telling me to buy this video or that. At the end of the day (hate that phrase but) I am wondering just how we know what constitures an actual official qualification in this field.

The national Tai chi body....which I know has just accredited my teacher. You can find DVDs or You Tube of qigong moves. You could always put one of those on and everyone follows THAT rather than following you....but you need to make it plain you are not trying to teach them and that they do the moves at their own risk. I know my teacher would say DVDs and videos are only for guidance in between classes.
I've been in similar sessions where I know the leader isn't a chi kung teacher but they still drop a few moves (if you pardon the expression). Have a look on YT for 8 pieces of brocade videos.
I have never heard anything about it. Living in London, I would love to experience that! I see you, ladies, are looking for experts and teachers. I know I can google everything. But what about your experience, feelings about it? Can you share some with me, please? I would love to hear the real stories. I know Asian treatments and methodologies are becoming more and more popular nowadays. They have the great methods nowadays and had always had!
