Hi

Is it possible to learn Tai Chi as a distant learning course?

What are your views?

For that price I would rather pay to attend a guided course, to make sure that the moves are done correctly.

I totally agree with Jubba, you really should be in a group setting and be in a position to see that you are doing the moves correctly. I did Daoist Tai Chi in Perth, Scotland, and found them excellent and much cheaper, would highly recommend.

Enjoy!

As a professional Tai Chi tutor, I can't see much value in the course either and can't see the justification of £370.

Has anyone done this course and can give any feedback? Don't worry I promise not to take the p***.

Cheers

For £370 I would give a student (within a class of a maximum of 10 on a weekly basis) 72 1 hour sessions!

I must be in the wrong business. But then I sleep well at night knowing I lived the day honestly.

I can see where you're coming from RP !

If I do the Tai Chi course, I would then go on to the Cardio-Care Therapist course (£245 - 7 'lessons') in the hope that I would progress to Brain Surgery later in the month!!! (I'm a fast learner!)
Do people really fall for this **** ???

Hi Tai Chi Pixie,

I think thats a lot for a distance learning course, you could try our Correspondence Course at if you can't get to a regular class. Our course includes two dvds as well as 4 modules and some tutor feedback. As an introduction to tai chi it works and we have had positive feedback so far.

Best wishes

Matthew

You need to be practicing tai chi in a group to feel eachothers energy

Can one learn from video or even a book?

Yes, I agree with the consensus here - you really can't be sure that you're getting the positions right, you could even do some damage if you repeatedly made mistakes and practised regularly. A class is really the only way I'm afraid and tai chi is a discipline that requires some learning investment. But I love that about it! x
