Hi guys

Just wondering what massage lotions you guys use. I'm fine for lotions for general back massages etc.. But when it comes to remedial work and usingtechniques like STR and friction the ones I have are just to slippy. I no that supersavle is better but its far to expensive IMO£20 for <500ml. I've ssen Naqi Light, which might be a posiblility?

Any one?

Cheers

RE: What Lotion?

hi gman1979,
I know what you mean about too slippy, I use bremed massage cream, looks like a white vaseline product with citrus smell, it is available from bretherton productsif you cant get it from website however which is [link= http://www.bremed.co.uk ]www.bremed.co.uk[/link] it is about £30 per 2.5 litre.
in fact that is all i use now unless get a really hairy client.
I do a lot of myofascial work without creams or lotions, but for massage and soft tissue work use above as it is not messy and easy to apply, but I do put it into a smaller container than the ucket type it comes in.
regards
Gaz

I use Bremed as well. Before I ordered it they did send me a sample size. It's about all I use now.

Got me sample, first impressions are not to good TBH. For something that's non greasy did leave my hand rather greasy/slippery even after washing in water one or two times. I only gave the wife a quick shoulder rub, maybe i put to much on. I leave it till i do some remedial work till i make me final decision tho.

Therapy World do a lotion called Baselin Massage Milk, its about £6.00 plus VAT for 500ml or £40 for 5 litres and its perfect for remedial techniques. Im not sure if they have a website but they are linked to PhysioMed. I think if you do a search you should find them.

I think I might give biotone"deep tissue lotion" and the "dual purpose cream" a go. From what they say they should be pefect for my needs.

You do have to be careful with the amount of Bremed you use - otherwise you can end up slipping all over the place - I don't tend to ladle stuff on now which I think I probably did in the early days.

Ordered up 4.5l of Mueller Massage Lotion from [link= http://www.vivomed.co.uk ]http://www.vivomed.co.uk[/link] with VAT & del it came to £23.
I rang Viomed & they reckon it outsells the Baselin which is always popular so should be good.
Pukka price though.

Hi Gman,

I tend to stear clear of anythingsold as a 'massage' lubricant other wise I feel you are paying for the marketing. I have a tub of aqueous cream (Boots)and a bottle of grape seed oil (Sainsbury's, decanted into a plain bottle!) buthaving said that I'mincreasingly finding thatI prefer not to use anything.
