Hi Everyone!

I've just finished my B Tech Level 5 Diploma with the London School of Sports Massage and am a little lost with what to do now. I currently work full time doing shift work so am finding it a little hard to find the balance between both jobs and also being able to fit in clients at the times they want.

I was just wondering if there was anyone who could give me some handy hints for getting and keeping clients. My boyfriend is a PT andIi massage out of his studio, so I thought getting clients would be quite easy, but it's proving slightly more difficult than expected. I'm also worried of not having anyone to practice on and then losing all my skills and confidence.

I know the first 6 or so months are going to be the hardest, but I was just hoping someone out there might have some ideas that would make it a bit easier.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Claire 🙂

Hi Claire

It would be well worth your while to do a web site. They are easy to do it yourself these days as long as you have reasonable computer skills.
Choose your Domain name carefully = your areasportsmassagetherapy.co.uk.

Your PT boyfriend should be able to guide you on getting referals........or is he worried about some healthy competition. 🙂

Hi Claire

I know this thread is old now, but it would be interesting to know how you're getting on. For me, word of mouth has been the best promotional tool. The website idea is also worthwhile for raising brand awareness. Have you tried targeting groups and/or associations e.g. Running, cycling groups? They usually appreciate sports massage as they put their bodies through a lot. Maybe start off with a couple of free sessions and build up price as you go along. Yes, FREE means there is no immediate monetary gain, but it will cost you nothing (only your time) and you may gain numerous long term clients!
