hi everyone , haven't been on here in a while , wondering if anyone can help me , im planning on moving to Germany sometime next year and staying there , there seems to be a massive difference in what a german massage therapist can do and what we can do.. , one of the problems im coming across is the ability to administer if you like, hydrotherapy/balneotherapy,, I for one have no idea where I can be taught this new skill , anybody out there that can possibly put me in the right direction id be more than grateful ?? thanks in advance. trev
When I visited friends in Germany, we went to a few therapy centres for a variety of treatments. I think nearly all of the massage therapists were qualified in balneotherapy - it appears to be part of their training - perhaps when you get there you could enquire about training centres - I know they do a lot more training than is required by the UK. My favourite treatment was thalassotherapy, using mud from an Austrian bog - I was hosed down when I got out of the mud, using a high pressure hose - brilliant fun!!!
