Hi, I'm new to this site and am interested in the combination of hands on massage and energy chanelling / healing. For this reason I was drawn to Hawaiian LomiLomi bodywork. I work very intuitively and feel completely recharged and energised after a two hour treatment even though the massage I give is very physically demanding ... long stretches up and down the body, very rhythmic and continuous. I love what I do and feel more and more connected to this wonderful healing source each time I give a massage.
Are there any other healers out there who work with massage? I'm sure there must be other types of bodywork apart from LomiLomi that work in this way - but havent come across any yet.
Aloha!

Hi Jacqui,
Great to hear from you and felt that I should reply. I work as a healer/massage practitioner and have been for the last 12yrs. I love what I do and can't do anything else :D. Healing just flows when I work, I didn't have any intention when I first started that this what what I wanted to do, it just happened, so I worked and continue to with it. Keep on keeping on - go girl!!
Go well my friend, Sue xxx
Hi HL
For many years as a healer, I have had problems being excepted, then retrained in massage. This opened so many new doors and I have a much broader spectrum of clientale. Massage being tactile is far more excepted within society. At the end of the day it is all about intention, the intention to heal and wishing the best for the client. So I see massage as an expression of natural healing, working directly with the physio-energetic body, but allowing this to balance the totality of the client's wellbeing.
I think it is very easy to fall into the trap of think spiritual healing is the laying-on-of-hands and talking about spirits and angels. Of course there is nothing wrong with this, but I feel spiritual healing can be expressed in many ways: a smile from a friendly waiter is a cafe, a gift given from the heart, a surgery operation in hospital, the mixing of tintures by a herbalist, or even Indian head massage.
As for other types of bodywork, in Thai Massage it is traditional to pray to the Father/Healer before treatment, and many Buddhist principles are incorperated such as: loving kindness; compassion; rejoicing in good fortune; and equanimity. This is know as the 4 Divine States of Consciousness.
I do 2 hour long massages as well and found there are not energetically draining. This is because it is not rushed, the mind is focused but relaxed, and the giver has time to provide a holistic treatment taking into account the overall needs of the client.
Best Wishes

massage/healing
Hey all,
I've found that, if done right, massage can be a very useful healing tool. But, it's not necessary. I agree with RP that spiritual healing can be found in many forms, some which can happen at any time of the day.
But, if you are going into professional energy healing, massage can be a useful way to draw out a person's energy, as well as to help them to relax before having their energy cleared.

In all of its probability energy healing with message therapy is going to help the client internally and externally.
