I'm exploring the idea that your inner state defines what you experience, or more precisely, to quote Dan Millman:

"You always get what you want. Your subconscious rightfully determines what energies, experiences and people you attract, therefore only the foolproof way to know what you want is to see what you have."

I have been thinking about this a lot as I'd like to find out how to change my life so that I am happier and more myself. There's a lot more but I don't know how to put it into words.

What do people think about this? Do you think it is true? Have you had any experience of being able to change your inner state to be more positive, and how did you do it?

Hi Mouse

Sorry to hear you are in pain, it can certainly grind you down.

I've found the journey very up and down (as I'm sure many do). On the days that I'm feeling depair, I try to remember the story of The Golden Buddha Golden Buddha, The and think that I'm in some way chipping away at that clay. Keep chipping, you are doing well xxxx

Yes, very much aware that you don't get what you want. The only want I really have is that I would like to be myself and not feel so stuck and trapped. I would love shamanism to be the way to this state (there must be some reason why I am so drawn to it). There is something fundamentally wrong with having one accident after another, depression, illnesses, however one looks at it.

The problem is that whilst I completely see the logic of trying to accept, and trying to just 'be' with things, the reality for me is that nothing changes when I try so why do it in the first place? I do respect what Paul and Jnani have been saying here and I can see what they mean but in reality......

I suspect soul loss and would really urge you to see a shamanic practitioner about this.
You cannot ‘just be’ unless the complete you and nothing but you is there. A soul retrieval and possibly an extraction would put you into the position of being able to make changes in your life.
The things you mention – accidents, depression, illnesses – are all results of soul loss.

Yes, this I plan to do after I've attended my introductory workshop, it's not the time yet. I feel resistance to the idea but I think....well, you can be apprehensive about uncovering your own power.
