One of my favourite writers-artists is Layne redmond, an Irish-descent Americandrummer. She wrote "When drummers were women" (briliant) and another book about healing the chakkras through music. The second one I have not finished, but it comes with a cd of mantras to be sung...I tried it wice, and it is quite tough, to keep in rythm, but it does make your chest vibrate and clear your mind.
Recommended.
also, her album " hymn to the muses" (I think) is beautiful.
