RE: Tendonitis

What's your diagnosis?
The term tendonitis implies a Full condition with Heat and some degree of Qi Stagnation. May also be Wind and/or Damp. Then again the whole thing could be a Full Cold condition, which wouldn't be unusual at this time of year. What channels are involved?
The popping sound to me suggests that there is some underlying deficiency in Blood or Body Fluids.
Have you injured your shoulder? Or has it arisen gradually?
Any of the local points/channels may relieve some of the condition (LI 15, LI 16, TB 14, TB 15, SI 10-15, GB 21). St 38 is a distal point for acute shoulder problems. LI 11 may help as it clears Heat and inflammation and the channel runs over the shoulder.
If this is a more chronic problem, then these points will likely only help symptomatically. There could be imbalance in any of the 5 elements that could lead to this condition.
More info needed!;)

RE: Tendonitis

Thanks for the information Aragorn, it's something I've noticed lately. I would venture to say stagnation in GB and SI around the scapula with LI on my left side of neck. I don't recall any injuries there but in sports my right side was dominant and I think there could be musle imbalance issues.

RE: Tendonitis

If it feels muscular and GallBladder-y, then this may be a result of some Liver Qi Stagnation. Do you have more systemic signs or symptoms of stress? More irritable, frustrated, angry? Bloating easily, bowels playing up a bit? Generally feeling run down and tired, but better with movement? Finding it harder to express yourself?
If you do have some of this kind of thing, the shoulders can be the first place it shows "externally". Maybe you need some shiatsu!;)
