I find this very similar to moving in Tai Chi, although I am still having trouble moving this way when I am kneeling.

Do you mean from standing to a Knell? Turn the waist shift the weight, move the foot and with the back naturally straight, sinking down lead with the hips.
On the ground I try to move in and out with circular motions of the hips, can you make any suggestions?

RE: Moving from the Hara

I think that's abotu the right description for moving in the kneeling position. What I was thinking of is to go from really standing to kneeling or the other way round. Actually moving from hara becomes a second nature with practice and time.
