Hello,
I'm wondering if a couple of people on here would be willing to help me out to recieve my Reiki II certificate please? I"ve been attuned since 2015 and decided to do the level 2 back in April this year, so I had my attunement and all was well, however my teacher requests homework to actually get my certificate, which I have almost completed the requirements which are: 15 x distance healing.
4 x hands on full body treatments.
15 x Self treaments. I completed all these fairly quickly and knew the symbols in a couple of days even with going through a pretty tragic time I still use reiki everyday and I'm starting to see more than colours when giving reiki so that feels amazing 🙂
What I need help with is receiving distance reiki. I'm required to have to have had 4 treatments given aswel as all the above. I paid for one full body treatment last month but I just Can't afford to pay for 3 more hands on when I saved up for my level 2. my teacher says receiving reiki via distance will be accepted aswel, so I willing to do some distance healing swapping if anybody can spare a few mins to send reiki to me and I will do the same for you. 🙂 Many thanks for reading. will appreciate any responses. X

I'm sure you'll get some offers, though have you considered any local Reiki Shares? That's a great way to meet others doing Reiki and to give and get Reiki treatements, usually just for a small administrative fee, or even for free (depending on whether the share is held in a place where you have to pay for the room or not)

I am a reiki master (level 4) and would be interested in helping out? But it's a strange thing to need for your level 2? How do they prove it happened or who I am etc? Do you have any more details please?

Hiya, Thanks for your respose I did find a local reiki share via the lady that I went to for my previous treatment, I kinda wish I would have found her before I went to my teacher as she thinks all the homework is not needed aswel. I am planning on attending I just havn't felt too good lately so I held it off. I know all will change once I bite the bullet and go so thanks for that 🙂 The share is every two weeks so it would still take me another 6 weeks to have my complete receiving.

Hi Cascara thanks so much I know you are quite helpful on here it would be good to swap distance healing with you. You are right I've questioned the same thing. My teacher said its to make sure I know the symbols but they kept coming to me in my dreams right after my attunement so I think I'm good with that. In the back of my manual theres a list that you fill in as and when I've done all my hands on etc and a space to put any affects/results. She says she doesn't need to see the list and just to update her, so I did think I could just pretend to have received instead of paying her for treatments it's a bit of a con really, I know she could just send me distance to help me acheive my certificate but I guess she's one of those people. I won't be going back there if I ever do my level 3 anyway lol hope that helps, it is a funny one but maybe i'll have something to report from you sending distance reiki. If you'd like to message me to arrange a time we can both send it? p.s I havn't tried it on a teddy bear since I was being attuned I don't know why I just prefer to do it in my hands (cooking) as my teacher calls it. I'd like to know your thoughts on that? maybe I need to get confident with using teddy. 🙂

Well, on the one hand, certainly you shouldn't just do something because the teacher wants you to attend and pay for it with him/her (and it's not the first time I've come across Reiki teachers who insist on something that has to be done with them, and you have to pay more to do it).
However, part of Reiki is about being honest in what you do, and recognising that Reiki is a path for yourself, so is not something you should be rushing, and not something you should try and deceive your teacher over, in order to get qualified (unfortunately we see too many people who rush to get the qualification, but haven't understood the teachings, or even been taught it, or have any practical experience - I once came across a "reiki master" who asked to be reminded of the symbols as she had forgotten what her friend had told her when she had been attuned.... turns out her friend had got her reiki attunements and certification "online", and just passed it on to her friend one evening, as if having the certificate makes you a reiki master)

If your teacher is happy to just see that you've undertaken the requisite treatments (giving and receiving) and it doesn't have to be done with her, then that is probably just because she wants to see that you are serious about your Reiki practice. I'm surprised she doesn't hold regular Reiki shares herself (or does she? have you asked?) - My teacher used to hold monthly shares in her home (no cost), and I used to attend ones local to me too. However, don't lie to her about having the treatments, just work to ensure you've done what she has asked; unlike Cascara, I don't think it's an unusual requirement for Reiki II, as this is the level of Reiki where you are qualifying to work on the general public, so practice, practice and more practice, is a good thing, especially if you're planning on doing it professionally.

Reading back my words weren't well chosen. You are absolutely right. Practice is key, and practice on real people, so no cheating. But it is the paying for the after treatments to qualify that I wasn't happy with, as you say, we all have come across 'reiki masters' that do this and the paper thing too, oooh it's a mine field.

No need to pretend, I ma sure you will find people that want a distance healing. When I did mine which I can still vividly remember, I chose to be in a pine forest surrounded by the wind and pine needles. The smell was wonderful and people seemed to beenift from the fresh air and scent too.

I will message you and see what we can come up with 🙂

Shame though that we can't organise a reiki send on here? .... Cooeeee..... Giles?

I know what you are saying totaly and I really havn't rushed It, I use discernment in my practice If i'm feeling off I won't practice on other people I have just managed to complete all the sending/giving in my own time and when it felt right. Also i'm not going to lie to her lol I actually really would like to receive distance reiki for my own experience aswel as completing my homework. I was saying to cascara it's true that I couldn't prove if I received or not. It just isn't helpful for a teacher to not really support their students, a lot of her students have never got back to her for their certificates so that tells me they either wasn't serious or they thought it was a bit much after already paying up for the attunement, she doesn't offer a reiki share so the expectation was to pay her for 4 treatments £35 a time.. which I would do if I was flush of course, I love reiki. but I decided to go elsewhere for a treatment and I must say it was even more amazing than ever and all my practice since my 2nd attunement seems much stronger so I know it's worth it and I can see the point of it all, but not everybody knows a whole lot of people that do reiki so it has been a struggle to get my receiving and thats the part other students struggled with. I just think in a way that isn't helping someone achieve. It's taking money and leaving em to feel alone with it. I know of dodgy stories tbh I've learnt more about reiki via research and practice than I was taught or shown I was also supposed to have had an archangel attunement included in my attunement it was down as part of the course but no It didn't happen then I get an email upon going home for an arch angel attunement course for £55. lol I didn't even bother to question her about it, my gut tells me all. I'm not saying she's a bad person she is skilled in a lot of areas but really I've learnt a lot from that and it puts me off doing any more via that particular person and it's made me see what kind of practitioner I want to be 🙂 Reiki is an amazing energy and should be shared, I'm more than happy to send distance for free as it costs me nothing but some time to help and do good for someone else, but I guess not everybody thinks that way. I have still never charged for a session and I wouldn't until I receive my paper and get set up, but even then I didn't turn to reiki to make money, reiki came to me, and I know I will get a lot of pleasure out of taking it further as I love giving and people do give me really good feedback. I think it'd be good see what happens sending & receiving distance to other practitioners on here, which is another reason why I've reached out for help 🙂

Thank you so much You've made me so happy, I love the forest idea, I've always had really vivid dreams but stuggled to really visualize when trying to but I've always seen colours when receiving reiki even before I was ever attuned to it, now I see things forming from colour when I give hands on, so I think thats a part of me that"s awakening When I send distance reiki to a situation or person I think of a beautiful bright rainbow reaching to the area or person although I don't see it, it's there in my mind and heart, It would be fab to really take myself to the forest when sending distance, so thanks for that inspiration. Will look forward to your message

That's good to hear. 🙂

Not sure about the "archangel attunement" thing. That's not Reiki, that's some new age add-on.

Glad you've taken it upon yourself to research deeper in to Reiki though; as so many don't.

@Cascara if you want to go ahead and organise a date/time etc. for a HP distance reiki share, please do go ahead. 😉

Yeah you are right, that isn't reiki so I just let it go.
I think my experience wasn't all bad as like you say, I had to research and find my own way.
At least you know where I'm coming from now. 🙂

GMT is 7 hours ahead of PST. Currently we're in BST though and PST is, as far as I can tell, PDT at the moment, so there is an 8 hour difference.
