Hi All, I have a brand new client coming on Friday, which I'm delighted about, as things have been so quiet lately. However, gathering the info on the phone he tells me he has a Hypothyroid condition for which he is receiving hormone treatment (most probably 'throxine') He has his Doctor's consent, he says (wow!)
My question is - should I get him to sign that he's received this consent - in addition to the normal 'disclaimer' form that every new client signs when starting?
Also, is there anything to be more aware of when treating him? I was thinking a good, general all-over treatment as he suffers from feeling cold and the boost to circulation would help. Any areas to give extra attention to?

Would be so grateful for any thoughts/advice!

There are a couple of very old posts about this you may wish to search.
I know a 76 years old lady who also suffers from hypothyroid (treated with 75mg thyroxine).

she feels constantly drained and tired, often depressed and has been gaining weight rapidly.

Started last week and decided to treat with

Massage blend:
Lemon, Myrrh, Roman Chamomile

Take home ointment:
Lemon, Cypress, Roman Chamomile and Clove bud

She loved the ointment but didn't care too much for the massage oil (might change the Lemon to Ginger next time...)

hi AT

long time no talk, how are you?

re your client - you need to show that you have explained fully the possible contra-indications that the treatment may have as well as the benefits which I think will outweigh the possible contra-indications.

if you add this on your consultation sheet and get him to sign that section as well as signing at the end of the form then I dont see why there should be a problem

you dont seem to realise how good you are at what you do, I have always enjoyed the treatments that I have had with you

hope all goes well, ring if you want a chat

manulike, thanks for your input on this. I only do Reflexology currently but was interested to hear the Aromatherapy approach. Perhaps I could suggest this as a back-up therapy to the client if he needs a little more help later on?

Regards.

Hemelgirl - good to hear from you! And thanks for input and advice re. the consultation; I think that's the way to go with the form - I will rejig it a bit to include the second bit.

Your comments on my treatments were lovely to hear - really gave me a boost - thank you! Will be in touch.

Best wishes

I agree with what hemelgirl said re: disclaimer. I have treated many clients with thyroid imbalances. A general treatment would be nice but I would also work the whole endocrine system including the thyroid, helper to thyroid, parathyroid and neck area.

I have hypo thyroid and have done for 20 years, its an awful problem, it is part of the endocrine system when the pituitary in the brain releases hormones and does not release enough thyroxine from thyroid gland which then inturn loops back to the brain and feeds on from there. It affects the whole bodily chain of the hormonal system, giving, slow intake of information, feeling cold, dry skin, thining hair, sensitive, feelings of highs and lows, feeling constantly tired and aching, weight gain, intolerance to alcohol. Sometimes I dont take my thyroxine and im like a car running our of petrol literally everything slows down. Its controlled with a manufactured tablet, thyroxine. But getting the dosage right has always been a problem, doctors have put me up and down on different dosages. Its a disease of the thyroid that does not function correctly, apparently it can be inherited or brought on by stress. Babies are checked for it at birth when they take the blood from the heel of the foot, mine came on after my 3rd child was born or perhaps I had it for years and it was undianosed. If anyone has any ideas for getting energy right now mine is low. If this helps in any way. I heard there is someone in clacton who is very familiar with this problem as a long term sufferer herself she researced it but i dont have her web address, she said the doctors seem to have a better grasp and undestanding of diabetes than thyroid problems. Now I am being told I can only get my prescriptions once a month, in spain you can buy them at the chemists over the counter, but that brings a problem as levels do seem to flutuate.

I treated my hypothyroid with the crystal elixir larimar; took 3-4 months but stabilised it. I also then used a blend to balance the HPA axis (hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis); once this was accomplished, I used another blend to work on the feedback loops which although hormones were being secreted, they weren't being secreted in the correct quantities.

Hi corinaldo - welcome to HP . Yes, I've been there, done that , but now much better!

There have been many discussions here about low thyroid - if you look at the bar at the top and click search, put in 'low thyroid and then click the show posts button, and go, all the posts that mention low thyroid are there - pages of them - and lots of advice and information. If you still have questions come back to this thread, and I'm sure someone will be able to help.

Hi Rosi

I'm very interested in your approach - are these gem essences you use?

Hi Caroline, Yes, a mixture of gems, stones, or flowers, dependant on what specific vibration is needed of course.

My HPA axis was running at 4 (scale of 1-10. 1 being bad, 10 being good) and the feedback loops on me were at 5.

Thankfully now I am also losing weight, as put on a lot of weight.

How do you assess the levels? It obviously works otherwise you'd not be in practice :).

At one stage Nutrition was beyond me - and then I learned different - and then EFT seemed extraordinary, until I saw and felt the results! This healing business is far, far more than pharmaceuticals and surgery, is it not?!! 😉

I dowse for the levels, however, am pretty intuitive when it comes to my body and where the issues lie, so first I become aware of where the issue lies, then I dowse.

I then tune into the information required to affect healing.

And yes, healing is metaphysical and so much more involved than conventional medicine.

Thanks Rosi

I have started to study dowsing and have become somewhat intuitive myself - maybe I see another avenue opening up!! Always something new to learn - what fun!
