Hi all
I was just wondering what the average length of training is required to become a Reflexology Practitioner? Is it fairly standard across the varied awarding bodies?
I'd be very grateful of your advice/thoughts please.
Blessings...

Hi Jan,
I've not done reflexology myself, but like many holistic courses you will no doubt find there is a wide range of courses available with different lengths and standards. I suspect you could easily go out and find a week long course that 'qualifies' you as a reflexologist, but I personally would be suspicious of any body work type of course that could be done so quickly.
Firstly, I would look to see what reflexology organisation/associations are out there, get an idea how many members they have, and then perhaps look up other reflexologists on the web to see which organisation/association seems to be the most popular one to join, and put that alongside the standard of service that each person seems to be offering (many therapists will list their qualification and how long they studied and how long they've been practicing for).
I'm sure you'll get responses here offering plenty of good advice, and no doubt some recommending certain organisations/associations etc. Just take your time to look into it, and look back through many of the posts on these forums where I'm sure you'll be able to read about the good, the bad and the ugly. 😉

I am currently training at Level 5 with the Three Shires School of Reflexology and our course is a year long with tutor led studies totalling 150 hours. On top of that we also have to do 100 hours of treatments including at least 60 hours of treatments on case studies and we also have to do home studies and various spot tests along the way.
I have 6 months left of my training and am really enjoying it 🙂
