Hi there
I am sure that many of you must have experienced this but recently, after I have given a reflexology treatment, I have felt incredibly drained. So much so that I could just fall asleep.
I don't know if it is the reflexology or whether I am just tired. I don't feel too tired generally but know I could do with some sleep!
Has anyone experience this and, if so, what have you done to help you combat it?!
I look forward to hearing from you.
Alka
RE: Help! Feeling incredibly drained after giving Reflexology!
Hello Alka:
You provided an inadvertant energy healing session. The feet, as you may already know are already energy-sensitive, and human energy is drawn from one body to another (hands are natural transmitters of human subtle energy) when one person is depleted and receiving any kind of touch therapy from a caring provider. The problem comes when the provider is unaware of this dynamic and the need is great. The solution is to allow the energy to come through you from the environment, rather than be drawn from your personal supply. You can do this by keeping steady, deep but gentle breathing into your belly (diaphragmatic breathing) and being aware of sensing the bottom of your own feet, the top of your head, your heart and your hands. they may feel tingling sensations or warmth as you do this. Some reflexology books teach breathing techniques, but few teach you to channel human subtle bioenergy. This should prevent this from ever happening again. In fact, you may notice that both you and your client feel especially energized and refreshed afterward.
A wonderful book that teaches excellent technique to amplify this healing energy to use with reflexology, acupressure or acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic or straight hands on healing is Quantum Touch: The Power to Heal by Richard Gordon. I think it can take your reflexology work to another level entirely!
Blessings,
Alfred:)
RE: Help! Feeling incredibly drained after giving Reflexology!
Hi Alfred
Thank you for taking the time to write all your information - it certainly is interesting.
I try to ground myself before giving a treatment but finding it really difficult. I can't seem to focus. I was thinking about doing Reiki1 to help me.
I may have a look at the book you have suggested. I would love to be able to take reflexology to another level.
Thanks so much
Alka
