Hello to everyone, I am new to forum and wondered if anyone could help, or recommend forums or information that would aid me.

I have found a college very near to my home, (College of Osteopaths) I know it is GCC approved, but am finding it hard to get information as to its reputation and whether it would be good to attend.

My positive with the college are - small enrolment no's (about 20), most students over 35, near to my home. Saying all this I still would not want to attend a college that was not well received in the Osteopathic community.

Any help would be really gratefully received

RE: Which college to go to ?

I can't say that it's a college that I'm familar with, but the fact that they are recognised by the General Osteopathic Council is the main thing.

As a smaller osteopathic college the down side could be that there are fewer osteopaths tutoring & lecturing to inspire you. It really depends who's there. There is such a wide range of views and approaches in the subject.

I've recently put together a webpage on resources for osteopaths if it's any help -

Andrew.

hi - I am in the first year at the LSO so have recently been through the decision process you are going through. they too have smallish classes - about 30 per year (which goes down as people drop out who find the committment too much) which I liked when applying
From chats with the lecturers it seems a lot do move around and lecture at most of the London Schools so chances are you will be taught by someone who also tutors at the BSO or LSO esp. for A&P.

I would say if you are happy with the atmosphere and think you will fit in you can't go wrong - all schools need to be of the same standard to have their courses approved.

It might be worth calling in to the other schools to get an idea of the ethos behind how they teach - they all have their own "personalities
