Hi everyone,
I'm after some advice on osteopathy degree courses. I have a biology degree and ITEC Massage Diploma and have been working in medical diagnostics for 5 years. After returning from 6 months traveling, I am looking to re-train as an osteopath - something I have wanted to do since I left uni but have been put off by the length and expense of training. I am very keen to get started, and though I am cutting it close for application for this academic year, there are a couple of places left that I am considering - one is at Oxford Brookes on the part time BOst. Does anyone know how this course compares with others offered by the likes of BSO for example?
I have not been able to visit Brookes, or any other colleges as have only been back a week...and my instinct is telling me to wait until next year to apply so that I can make a well informed choice about where I study. However, getting onto a course now and not having to wait another year is tempting and if Brookes is a good place to train (plus I live in Oxford), I don't want to waste the opportunity of getting started now. Any feedback on the course and general reputation of Oxford Brookes would be appreciated! I don't want to rush into anything as I know it's a really important decision, and want to make the right one... the Brookes course starts on Friday...!!!
Thanks, Sarah
Hi Sarah - just noticed your post. I know nothing about osteopathy training. I think you need to ask yourself why you are asking the question. It could be that you are really unsure in your own mind if starting a course on Friday is the right way to start! Perhaps you need more time to prepare - or, you could simply throw caution to the wind, and go for it regardless of what other people advise (actually, if I were in your position I would be knocking on the door at Brookes at 0900 this morning!!)
Good luck, which ever path you travel!
Hi Jabba,
Thanks for the advice. Just thought I'd let you know that I have bitten the bullet and applied for the Brookes course starting this week....I think I needed a little shove!
Sarah
Whoo hoo! Go girl!
