Hey there.
Can any of you osteopath dudes help me out? I'm interested in finding a course where I can study advanced anatomy and palpation, without doing a whole qualification in osteopathy or physiotherapy.
Basically to have a thorough hands on knowledge of anatomy, and to get lots of practise in palpation and locating structures.
I'm a massage therapist looking to expand skills in trigger point therapy by the way.
Cheers!
Hi LDN,
I think I've seen a course somewhere so will have a look later to see if I can find it. In the meatime I know Amazon have some books on the subjects.
Actually, this is what I was thinking of coursewise, not what you are after really. Sorry!

Thanks...they do actually do a course in 'living anatomy' which might work...expensive, but if it does have some 'meat' to it it might be ok.
When I saw those guys at a show they were very hyped up and 'woo yay'. Very promotional...do you know what it's like to actually train with them?
Cheers, Josh

I have done quite a bit of training with Jing. Yes at shows they can appear hyped up but it's natural energy and enthusiasm. They are a good to train with as the courses are very hands on.
The Living Anatomy is a one day course where you palpate all the muscles of the body, going through the insertion and origin points and the movements of the muscle.
There is also a more indepth Anatomy course which is for 20 days over 9 months. I'm hoping to do this later on in the year. This indepth course will help therapists to speak the same language as osteos and physios.
There is another company I think called London massage company that does further training including locating muscles.
In terms of cost I see training as an investment in my business.
A book that might help you in terms of palpating and locating muscles is The Trial Guide to the body by Andrew Biel.
Thanks for that. You never know...might see you on the course 🙂
Hi ldnmassage guy!
Have a look at ccst.co.uk craniosacral therapy course - they do what looks like a really intense a,p & p plus intro to craniosacral covers palpation - I'm really interested in doing this training - if anyone knows anything about this college / has trained there / can recommend another it would be good to hear. good luck.
