Hi Hawkwinds,
Are you looking for a course, or just more info about it?
I personally dont do Tai Chi, but know of some courses in my area that I have been considering doing, A friend of mine has been doing it for about 4 weeks she says its a lovely way to relax, and her mother feels the benefit of the exercise virtues of Tai chi, its the only movement that she can do that dosnt hurt her back.
Hope it helps. If you want some course info, let me know, and I will endevour to find the links for you;)
RE: Tai Chi
Hi Hawkwind,
As Hugo has pointed out there's a few ways to study or practice Tai Chi, I personally practice Tai Chi Chuan, as my background is predominantly martial arts and I came to it through a style of Gung Fu; however, it matters not when you first enter Tai Chi; what does matter is whether you can feel 'at peace' with your instructor and your class members - if so - you will find it an excellent 'moving meditation' that also helps to genrate 'chi' energy. From there you will be able to decide if you want to pursue a 'Qi Gong / Chi Kung' route.
But through experience, I would say it is most important to feel 'calm, happy & connected' to the majority of the class members and most importantly with the instructor.
It may seem akward and very difficult at first, but stick at it - if you master to basic movements - you'll find even complex forms are well within your grasp and very rewarding.
Please do try it on for size 😀
