Hi there

I've, at long last, decided to pursue training in Chinese Medicine and/or Acupuncture. I however admit to not knowing where to start. I am not for the moment going to worry about where the college is, but instead focus on finding out about what TCM training is being offered around the country - and whether these types will suit me.

Can folk please offer any suggestions regarding how I should approach this? What sorts of questions should I be asking?

Thanks!

Ava:)

Hello Ava,
Ive been having shiatsu treatments for several months.... the therapist told me that TCM was also part of the course...the course took three years(part time). I would have loved to train in shiatsu but the timing is not right at the moment..
Ive found a few web sites:

Good luck in what every you done.

Thanks Rachel. The London College site looks really comprehensive - thanks for that. I'll email them and try and find out more. If you have any tips re what I should look out for (or avoid) then that'd be super. Having been receiving shiatsu for several months I am sure that you can offer an opinion on what you've liked and dislike.

Again, thanks for the links!

Hello Again,
Your very welcome...with shiatsu i loved everything... The therapist works on you with your clothes on and she will take a full medical/lifestyle/health history from you ...it last about an hour and i feel so chilled afterwards...Shaitsu works on the meridans and im so passionate about them.
I not sure what you should be looking for on the course as i havent studied it myself...It cost about £6000 for three years.
Love and sunshine

Try the BSY Group - they have courses in Acupuncture, Chinese Massage, Acupressure and Tradtional Chinese Medicine.

Hi Ava, Did you ever find out any more information on the types of TCM available? I have just began researching Qigong and would like to find some reliable information on the courses available. I wondered if your search had discovered anything that may be of use to me?
