Hi all,
Does anybody have any information on the benefits of sliceddeer velvet?
When deer velvet has been processed, what is the significance of the different pieces? for example the bigger pieces at the bottom of the antler seem to be much cheaper than the tips? do they contain less nutrients or something?
I have found one site that sells it in slices [link= http://www.betabody.net/index.php?cPath=22 ]http://www.betabody.net/index.php?cPath=22[/link], but how do you tell the quality?
Thanks

I can't believe that people still use these ingredients!
RE: Deer antler velvet
Googling on "deer antler velvet" will give plenty of reading.
High in aminos & growth factors, supplement used for body building, arthritis, joint mobility. The velvet is harvested by removing the antlers from deer, moose etc when they are still soft. The velvet naturally sloughs off every year when the tissue dies and the antlers in most would be broken off naturally through rutting every season. This seems to be a big, legitimate, over the counter business in alternative health in Australasia and North America.
My guess regarding the pricing would be that the smaller tip pieces are fresher growth and therefore the nutrients have more value. The velvet is tissue, that at the roots will be much older.
