Hi

I am currently on a NLP practioner course and am seeing lots of techniques that could help me.
The problems I have are as follows I have a fear of flying, dentists, lifts & swallowing.

I already know that they are all connected to one experience in the past but don't know how.

I have people I know on the course and I am so desperate to address these issues.

The problem is I don't want anyone to know about the experience (RAPE by 2 men).

PLEASE PLEASE can someone give me some advise.

THANK YOU

Love & Hugs

RE: NLP practioner Course HELP re MEMORIES

This is a GENERAL guess...I could be totally off base. But I'd say that the first three are all situations where you aren't in control. dentists would be freaky as you might feel as if you are putting yourself at someone else's mercy--again lack of control...
You might just say that you have been in circumstances where you lacked control over your environment and maybe leave it at that? or is that revealing too much? or would they perhaps ask more questions? but maybe something along those lines...if htati s how you feel of course...lol. The feelings of lack of control are somewhat generically assumed in phobias relating to flying and elevators (I'm assuming that is a "lift"?) but everyone is different. Also, in my opinion (and again, a fairly generic assumption) is that when someone is raped, they have had absolute control over their environment, body, destiny, etc. stolen. So that is why I made that assumption. Generic=often true, but not always since we are all unique and no experiences are the same. Not to mention, it might be deeper than lack of control or related to it, but not quite. if any of this makes sense

*wanders off rambling*

RE: NLP practioner Course HELP re MEMORIES

Hi Susan

The great thing about NLP, is that you don't have to say what happened. During the therapy or exercise use a codeword (in this example floodlight) instead of saying you were raped by two men. You will then be able to describe the submodalities of the experience like, volume of sound, brightness of pictures, detail of colour etc when floodlight happened and without saying what really happened.

I have used this with NLP with a few of my clients and I also use this technique with other therapies like EFT & Emotrance.

It is something that is commonly used for issues like yours.

RE: NLP practioner Course HELP re MEMORIES

Thanks for the assistance on this, I am loving the course & have chosen to go with what ever my unconscious mind gives me at the time.

I can see me being hooked on this real soon.

I have been working on anchors today and have no access to up time states.
How sad is that!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Again

RE: NLP practioner Course HELP re MEMORIES

Well I am now officially an NLP Practioner & have been to particles & back.

I have seen just how far my trauma took me and can see how far I had to go and get my self back from.

I think my trainer has freaked & thinks I am mad because I said how I had been to my maker & back.

Oh well

RE: NLP practioner Course HELP re MEMORIES

Hi all,

I am looking for a little advise, following my NLP course I have been told to avoid meditation and surround myslef with people, go to work and keep going.

I am shattered and my trainer has told me that what I went through on the NLP course was nothing to do with NLP and that I must be on Drugs.

I have dealt with a massive amount of baggage and am a little suprised at his comments.

can anyone elaborate on this????????

THANK YOU

Susan

Hiya

You have indeed sorted out much of your baggage and whilst this may not be directly related to the course it is related to your experience of that course and helping you move on in your journey and that of being a practitioner...it would strike me as their problem and not yours babes...sorry cant help you further but would suggest you dont sweat it...

RE: NLP practioner Course HELP re MEMORIES

Seems like your trainer is a bit insensitive! NLP can take you on journeys back and forwards in time, and that is sometimes entirley the point. So if you have had experiences that he is not comfortable with, maybe he needs to see a practitioner!
