I just had to tell people that I have been experimenting with EFT, NLP to treat Eczema, this is a condition that has developed for me later in life (I am nearly 40) and I cannot express how much it peezz me off itchy skin, dry painful cracked joints....(you get the picture?)
Well I don't want to count my chickens but I have been doing some work on myself and it has nearly all cleared up and I haven't used any creams or stuff for about 3 weeks!!!
:):):):):):):):):)
Care to share some more details about how you tackled this condition using EFT / NLP?
e.g. Did you look for the root causes or the event(s) at which point the condition started? etc.
I tried working on what I thought was the root cause and the first time the eczema appeared but these did not seem to shift my SUD. Maybe I had my statement wrong I do not know.
I then used meta model questioning on myself to find out specifically what was my issue with having the eczema currently and developed a statement that I felt much more comfortable with and tapped al the ponts on that.
This brought my SUD down to about 4 but didn't shift it any further so on the advice of a friend I rubbed each point individually while repeating my full statement each time to see which points were sore to touch.
From this I developed a kind of personal algorithm so then tapped just the sore points and repeated the full statement each time.
I kept repeating the rubbing points and gradually removed points until I only had no more sore points left and my SUD reduced to 0.
I have since then tapped on all the points each night just before I go to bed and checking that I do not have any sore points come back.
I may be over doing it but I am gonna repeat this tapping each night until all of the dry skin has gone completely.
Hope this helps.
I haven't a clue what EFT or NLP is - is it connected with Reiki - but you must be delighted that your skin has cleared. I'm in the same boat, I'm 48 and my flare up started a year ago when I was bitten by midges. At the moment I'm taking a homeopathy remedy and using creams as it is expelled. The itching is immense!! Thanks for sharing!
Frelaco, welcome to the Mind Therapies forum.
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques and works by tapping on accupressure points on the meridian system. The principle is that issues or conditions are a disruption of your body's energy system and by using a focii (saying specific statements to focus on the root causes (or as close to the root causes as possible) of your issue) and tapping on the certain meridian points you remove the disruption in the energy system so the next time you come across a trigger that would normally have brought up the disruption and hence the issue, it in fact stays clear. More info is on the founders website () where you can also download a copy of the manual for free for personal use.
NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming and can only really be described as a toolset of techniques that can be used in any walk of life for understanding and aiding communication. It can be used to uncover patterns of behaviour and 're-anchor' those patterns with something else that's positive where they are previously problematic. It has loads of uses, not just in therapies but in business, sales, or even everyday social interaction.

Thanks very much for your reply Energylz. I visited the website and am awaiting my free download - really interesting stuff!:)
Hi Jason,
That's great news about the eczema.
I had my first eczema client last week and we used EFT to calm it. He had had it for 4 months, said that his pain levels had been a constant 10 during that time, and nothing he had tried brought it down.
We worked on an emotional theme to do with being bit and poisoned - he was a victim of fraud. That approach helped drain the pain to a 3. There was an interesting flow of energy down his right leg, as if draining the poison that had settled in his skin. Also he noticed a visible difference in the appearance of his skin as the session progressed.
He came back this week and noted that the eczema irritation had gone up to a 5 during the day and a 9 at night the day after his last appointment - fluctuating between the two dependent on whether he was conscious. An improvement nonetheless.
This time we worked on other aspects of the fraud, and a deeper issue from his childhood that underpinned how he had attracted the recent incident into his life. We brought the pain completely down to a zero for the first time since it all started.
We know there are a few other bits to do, but great to know he's getting tangible relief for his skin and self just from tapping.

Thats amazing, I am just learning EFT do you think I could use it on my 2 year old as she is suffering from exzema. I had a bad birth so thinking that may have caused some trauma. Any advise would be great. Keep it up sounds like it is working for you, EFT is such a powerful therapy! Regards Joanna

With young children it is usually recommended to do EFT for the mother and her own worries and anxieties - as you and the child are so closely connected. From what you describe, it would probably be useful to work through the traumatic birth (using the Movie Technique) and any anxieties and stresses you are experiencing yourself in relation to your 2 year old's eczema and in everyday life generally.
