Hi,
I want to study Naturopathy (in London) this year but need some advice as to where I should do this.
The 2 options are at University of Westminster or at The College of Naturopathic Medicine. The obvious pros of the uni are that it's cheaper, and I'll walk out with a degree, but is a degree necessarily better than a diploma in reality? Also, they incorporate massage therapy (which the college doesn't) but the college course covers iridology and flower remedies and acupuncture, which the uni doesn't. Both courses run for 3years full-time. confused...
I'd appreciate any form of feedback from students of these institutions or from practitioners who can offer some advice.
Thanks
Hi there
I am not sure that the London cnm course is full-time?? I'm in my first year in Edinburgh - and it is 3 years part-time. The first year is one weekend a month, for 10 months. Years 2&3 are each two weekends a month for 10 months. I'm in the foundation year - so am doing the physiology and pathology stuff, that all complementary therapy programmes offer. It's fine so far - but I can't advise you whether it's the right programme for you, since I don't know the answer for myself yet!

Hi there!
I've not done naturopathy, but if it was me I'd opt for the degree course and do the iridology, flower remedies and acupuncture afterwards - acupuncture is a full course in its own right (3 years I believe) - just make sure the course teaches you to be a therapist - knowledge is one thing, setting up and working as a therapist is another altogether.
The CNM course is rather expensive. Would you be able to make yor money back after qualifying? I believe the course i will cost you a little over 8k for 3 years. It would be good to get feedback off CNM graduates. Btw, there is also course with natural healthcare college: [DLMURL] http://www.naturalhealthcarecollege.com/NHC_naturopathic_nutrition.html [/DLMURL]
Anyone done a course with them? Both the CNM course and the above course with natural healthcare college are accredited by the fntp.
anyways some input would be really good from others.
