Just wondering if there is any natural method (herbs, etc) that will slow down the graying of the hair?

greying hair

Hi there,
apparently sage essential oil is good for greying hair, although it is very potent so should only be used under the guidance of an aromatherapist.

just found this too:

Remedies

  • Apply a paste made from 2-Tsp. henna powder, 1-tsp. curd, 1-tsp. fenugreek seed powder, 1 tbsp. coffee, 2-tbsp. mint juice and 2-tbsp. basil juice. Apply this paste to the hair for two hours. For a darker color, leave this paste in for 3 to 4 hours. Wash hair with any natural shampoo.
  • Grate some fresh ginger. Mix with honey and place it in a jar. Eat 1 tea spoon everyday.

According to Dr Jowel Wallach Copper deficiency (along with the other 89 essential nutrients) is the cause of grey, saggy skin and weak veins and arteries. I know decoction of Nettles and sage were used by herbalists many years ago internally and as a rinse. I have some grey at the sides and was going to try out some remedies but started increasing copper (and zinc) so will let you know in a few months. I have heard allot of people returning their hair to normal colour by taking the full 90 nutrients plus extra copper. I hope it works.

My mother started to go grey at 28. I started at 24. Embrace it.

Yes! An old post! 2008. It might be a bit late to help the OP, but as already mentioned copper deficiency is linked to greying hair.

As you say, in the grand scheme of things, 'hair colour', what does it matter?
