I'm interested in training to become a Naturopath. My question is - can you make a decent living out of being a Naturopath?
I'd be concerned that prospective patients
a) wouldn't understand the term 'Naturopath'
b) might be more inclined to opt for 'free' allopathic treatment on the NHS

Not sure how many ND's are on this site. I had a colleague in a natural therapy centre who was a naturopath - however, she also offered other therapies (acupuncture, aromatherapy and massage therapy) as the naturopathic work was not sufficient to keep her busy all week - however, we were in a centre which was not on a main street, but was well advertised, so clients were there, but took some convincing to try naturopathy. There was also a very busy homeopath at the centre - people seemed to know more about it. As you mentioned in your post, many chose the allopathic route. I think you should investigate just how much training is involved, and then work out how long it would take to cover your outlay for training. You are an aromatherapist arn't you? Do you have part time job or are you still working as a chemist? How many hours are involved with training?
Yes, I'm an Aromatherapist working part time in a Hospice. I also run a separate non holistic business. The training would be an accredited fast track programme over 2 years put on by one of the London Colleges and has been validated by the General Council and Register of Naturopaths (GCRN).
I think you make a good point. Whereas Naturopathy is very well known and accepted in Australia, it's not so well known and understood in the UK (don't know about the rest of Europe). Clients know allopathic medicine, massage, acupuncture and homeopathy but I don't believe there's much awareness of Naturopathy so would clients be willing to pay for treatments.
I'd love to do the course. The cost is manageable but it's a big commitment given all the other stuff I do.
Maybe as an alternative, I'll upgrade my ITEC Level III qualification to the IFPA qualification instead. I have to think about all this.

Naturopathy a good career option
Naturopathy is a good way to heal your diseases with the touch of nature without any side effects. Now a days people are getting aware of this thing and are getting inclined towards this therapy.
