Hi guys i need some help if anyone can spare a few mins to help.
My boyfriends 3 yr old niece had what looks like athletes foot so she got cream from doctors.
now her wee feet look like they are badly burnt and skin is flaking off, they look so sore; she isn't overly itchy or sore though.

Now its on her hands like dermatitis and spreading..... Doc still says it's athletes foot but in one week this had spread so bad,

She had been swimming a few times and may have got athletes foot from locker room, but her older sister is fine. It does not seem contagious as none of her family has contracted it...

What can we do to help her, its horrible on her wee hands and feet.....

Hiya Meganhunter

I've just had athletes foot and believe I caught it from the public swimming baths too. Having spent a fortune on over the counter medicines which didn't shift it, I then considered natural remedies and found that dabbing apple cider vinegar on it twice a day did the trick. Took about a week to 10 days though.

Tea tree oil applied twice a day helped my daughter when she was little - like ACV, it took about 8 days to get rid of it. No visits to the pool until it's gone, though.

Hi there

Athletes foot is really nasty! she must be very sore.

You could try looking at Forever Living products - there are natural aloe vera products and contain very high levels of pure inner leaf (not like some of the cheaper versions you can buy over the counter which contain outer leaf and are pasturized so the enzymes are killed).

You can buy a juice drink which works from the inside out helping to ensure the immune system is working efficiently - completely safe for children to take. You can also get topical sprays and creams which control the itching and stop the bacteria from spreading.

Hope that helps!

If it is athletes foot then propolis is very useful as it has antifungal properties. A propolis cream / ointment would probably be most practical for this situation. Another option would be a propolis tincture, where you apply a few drops over the skin and then allow the alcohol in the tincture to evaporate, thus leaving a casing of the propolis.

Here is a little something I know about treating athlete's foot with only herbal and natural remedies. This one below

Boil some horsetail and then take it out and wrap it in a clean piece of gauze or other natural piece of fabric, but make sure that it is a soft material. Wrap the cataplasm around your feet, wherever the fungus has attacked and then take on some wool socks on.

Make sure you keep the cataplasm on until the very next morning, so it will work overnight. When you take the cataplasm off, smear the feet with marigold made ointment (make sure you get a natural marigold made ointment) right away.

During the day you shall wear only 100% cotton socks on because these are the socks that allow the foot to breath and hence it helps the process of healing.

Hope this works for you too, dear! 🙂
