Hi everyone,

The other day I signed up for an EFT introduction workshop. Its approx 2 hours long.

What I can expect from the class? I have heard a little about tapping and was so intrigued when I found this workshop I signed up there and then.

Are there any practitioners on here who can advise? The workshop is only £15 so I don't know how basic it will be... I have seen another class which is divided into level 1 and 2 and will be more in-depth. Its certainly more expensive at £45 for level 1 and £225 for level 2!!!

Do I really need to do the 2 levels? I'm only interested in EFT for helping myself and maybe close family.

Hi Donna

If you are just looking for a taster class to give a basic idea on EFT then the workshop should be fine. You may find that you enjoy it so much that you then decide to go on and do some further training with it which is probably the idea of the introduction workshop.

I would imagine it will teach you the position of the tapping points and then you will be doing some group tapping on what ever the tutor has decided.

If you do enjoy it then it might be worth you doing the level 1 as it would give you a deeper knowledge and £45 seems very reasonable. I know when I done my level 1 I paid over double that. You certainly don't need to do the two levels though if you just want to do tapping for yourself, friends and family. The level 2 is the practitioner level so that would be for if you wanted to work with the general public.

I hope you enjoy the workshop though and it would be interesting to hear how you get on 🙂

Hi Donna, well done on signing up for your EFT class, I am doing workshops and charge 50 euro for 4 hours, although it sometimes goes over, its hard to put a time on it.2 hours seems quite short and this would also depend on how many in the group and allowing question time etc.I like to do some practical work with cravings etc and I also like to do group work where people can just tune into their problems and we all tap together, some clients like to bring their issues to the fore and then I demonstrate how I would work on this.
You definitely do not need Level 2 if you only want to use it yourself or family members.

For self help purposes only I highly recommend 'The Healing Power of EFT and Energy Psychology' by David Feinstein, Donna Eden and Gary Craig
That's how I started before I did my practitioner course.
I was very actively healing myself and people aroiund me with the help of just this book brfore any other training.
Having attended the workshop will boost your confidence even more. Good luck get tapping!!

Hi,Donna-that sounds great. Would you mind telling me where/when it is as I live in Durham & am interested in EFT.

If you do decide to go onto the Level 1 workshop following the intro, then £45 indeed sounds very good value - but good idea to check if the trainer is approved by AAMET or AMT and that you get a certificate from one of these organisations.

Hi Yvonne, no probs. The workshop I'm going to is in North Shields and the last workshop this year (the one I'm going to) is 27th October. Don't know if I'm allowed to put the website but just google Keith Chaston hypnotherapy.

Group size is 6-8. I just emailed Keith to reserve my place.
Might see you there!

I just checked and the level 1 training body is approved by the AAMET. Thanks for the advice. x

You may post the website link if you like. That's within the rules if you are not associated with the course or providing it for your own benefit.

It all sounds good. Hope all is as you hope (a very good price!) and no doubt when you see what can be done with it you'll want to go further!

All the best

I'm sure I could easily do a websearch and find this out for myself, so forgive me for being mega-lazy and asking why there are levels for EFT? My understanding is that you can teach yourself from Craig's (now extinct) website. I appreciate that the Level 1 might be to show you exactly where the points are, and maybe helping you select suitable scripts. But, what is Level 2 covering?

Thank you. The website for the person running the introduction workshop is [DLMURL] http://www.keithchastonhypnotherapy.co.uk/eft-introduction-workshops.htm [/DLMURL]

and the website of the training body teaching the level 1 and 2 is

PS - I think level 2 is the practitioner level so that you can use it in the public domain (please correct me if I'm wrong!) x

Have a look Ava. Gives you an idea! There is more to it than just tapping a few points.

Oh, I see. Yes, you are right there is indeed far more to it than simply tapping. Thanks very much for that link. Hmm... I'm actually a bit tempted to look into it further.

Again, thanks. x

I don't know Keith, but Andy Hunt of Practical Wellbeing is a great practitioner and trainer and is personally responsible for infecting me with the EFT bug some years ago - I blame him for the wonderfully crazy (or crazily wonderful?) times I've had since then, tapping around the globe!

I found Sue Beer and Emma Roberts (the EFT Centre) to be excellent teachers and have a very sympathetic and helpful approach. They work also at a cancer hospice easing pain and fears. They are very experienced and approachable (wrong end of the country for you, but might be worth a weekend away sometime!

Incidentally, I believe that there are still some spaces available on the EFT International Masterclass organised by Sue Beer, Emma Roberts and Judy Byrne in London this Sat-Sun (2-3 Oct) . It should be a mind-blowing weekend, though I myself unfortunately can only make Sunday (will be on the Addictions Panel in the afternoon) - perhaps see some of you tappers there?

Aww, what a shame!

Would you not be interested in doing the level 1 course I also mentioned instead?

No one recognised on AAMET as Keith Chaston. Not EFT practitioner or EFT trainer...Not recognised by that professional body maybe AMT.

Sorry, didn't explain myself properly. Andy Hunt who runs the level 1 EFT class is registered with AAMET. I'm not sure about Keith Chaston.
