I have been pondering this question for some time so thought I'd post on here to get some views.

What are the advantages of going to a salon for a treatment or a therapist who is home based. I have also wondered why clients choose me over a salon.

My views are: I've never been satisfied with massages from salons. My experience has been that the massage is light, and they have not focused on my needs ie. they are very mechanical and some do not carry out consultations. I'd rather see someone who can assess me as an individual and focus on problem areas like lower back pain etc.

Thanks

I don't know about you but I feel the treatments in saloons are probably rushed with lack of the personal touch, so they can get more clients in, at the end of the day it is money that talks, not nessaserily the therapists fault, it's just how the saloons are run.

Where as your personal touch is more favoured as you take the time to ask questions get to know the person on a more personal level and clients feel more at ease knowing they are not just another number so as to speak.

My sister is an hair dresser and when she left the saloon she worked at all her clients left with her, they prefer her to do home visits and have stayed loyal to her, she as also made some good friends from these clients.

I would always choose an home based or mobile therapist because they treat you like a human being and care about your well being.

This is just my opinion.:)

I think its an excellent opinion and sums up too about how I feel. Have had two bad experiences with salons, so never going back. Am sure there are some brilliant salons out there, so not slagging all.
