Hi

After many years of constant use my Starlite massage couch has broken beyond repair. I did buy it second hand for the £120, so I was very lucky, better than paying £700 to 800 for a new one!

So I have been looking at this site: PORTA-LITE DELTA I 10.3kg

Is this company any good and has anyone used this model?

Cheers in advance.

RP

Haven't used Massage Warehouse and the couches i have are all heavy wooden ones. However I've been to a number of workshops where these couches have been used and they seem sturdy enough yet reasonably light and well priced. If I ever need another couch I will probably go for one of these:D

Hi RP

I have the 28" Portalite Delta which is a bit heavier that the one you are looking at (I need the extra width for some of my treatments) Very impressed with it quick to set up and the push button height adjustment is really quick and easy for when I go from a Sports treatment to Reflex.

All my clients find it very comfy and prefer the cradle to the face hole on my old couch
Just be aware that the weight doesn't include the cradle or the heavy duty case (useful pockets) but having said that it's the lightest strongest couch for the money (IMO)

Great service from Massage Warehouse so no worries there

Not sure where you are but you are very welcome to try my Delta (I'm in Lincoln)

Thanks for replying. I have used Feel Good couches before, and even though they represent good value for money, they are heavy and the head rest breaks too easily by clumsy clients.

best wishes

Hi Kerry

10 to 11 kgs is as high as I want to go, got used to the Starlite that is only 5/6 kgs in weight, and only going to use the new couch for home visits only. But have to admit that anything narrower than 28 inches is bit slim for the way that I work (influenced by Thai style massage).

I would love to come and check out your couch but as you can see by my location I live in the PRC 😀

best wishes

Hi RP,
Sorry, didn't notice the PRC location lol!

I'm with you all the way on the Thai style, I find it's good to mix a bit of Thai with the western Sports/Deep Tissue stuff that I do

I think you may have spoiled yourself with your Starlight though, nothing much comes close and I nearly invested in one myself last time. Just couldn't quite justify the price over the Porta lite......let me know what you end up with

Kerry 🙂

Well, the new couch has arrived. I went for the Porta Lite Delta II 28" model from the Massage Warehouse. Paid a little extra for the Delta II as I can easy slide my legs under for those occasional reiki and reflexology jobs.

Next day delivery and it's a nice couch. What a babe, curves in all the right places!! And is a proper light weight couch. Have home visits to do next week and can't wait to use it 😀

Don't get me wrong, Feel Good's are good value for money and ideal to set up shop on a small budget, but mobile they far too heavy!

Mine is from them, but I bought if from ebay at a steal for £60 for a lovely purple one, and my friend got one for £30 as it was apple green.

I've had it for seven years now, and its still in perfect condition like the day I bought it.

Yes they are a little heavy for a portable.
