Hi everyone, its been time since i`ve been able to chat on this site but I have this question .... over the past six months I have seen a lot more client male and female going naked for their massage. I always do the massage thats never been a problem as I too have had massage naked but Ive always asked before the start of a massage (if I feel I could trust the therapist) as it makes for a better massage, but I don`t seem to be asked if I mind. Does anyone have this or is it just me lol ? and I have been asked the other day by a female client if I would do Tantric massage, do I massage the whole body ??

Generally I find that the issue of nakedness comes up in the initial consultation and It's not something I'll raise to the client unless they initiate the subject....

....Tantra is a Hindu practice with the basic philosophy of 'achieving personal growth through pleasurable existence' - the Tantric methods involve every part of the body, and the Yoni/Lingam areas will receive particular attention.

If you're unfamiliar with Tantric methods it may be unwise to participate without determining just what your client expects from the treatment and ensure that you are confident and comfortable in meeting their needs.

Hi

after the consultation i always advise the client what they need to leave on or take off and how to position themself on the plinth.

Basically for a full body holistic massage i advise my clients to leave on their pants/boxers and to take off everything else. I hand them a towel in which they can wrap around themself and to pop up on the bed and lie face down. I leave the room for them undressing and when i arrive back into the room i adjust the towel so that i can uncover as i work.

I think alot of people are waiting to be told what to do(some of my clients have never had a massage before) and if you don't tell them you dont know what to expect.

hope this helps

As a client, I don't like it when the therapist tells you to "dress to the level of your comfort." Why? Because while I'd prefer to be undressed completely, some female therapists, particularily with a male client, might feel more comfortable if I or anyone else left their underwear on. On the other hand, I've had female therapists tell me to take everything off or they have explained that the massage will be better if I would do so - they certainly preferred it. So the question can be, what is the comfort level of the therapist? The truth is, I would abide by whatever the therapist says, but I'd like to know their preference. In reality, I probably wouldn't go to a therapist who wanted me in my underwear every time in the long run, simply due to my preference of being unclothed (draped, of course).

You would need to learn how to give Tantric massage before you give it, this is totally different then all massage that is taught under bodies like ITEC, VTCT and FHT. There are a number of places that do tantra and tantruc massage workshops that you might like to explore - most are not very good mind, but if more people did them then they would get better.
