Hi,
Do you think it is ok to give a bride to be a back, neck and shoulder massage before their wedding day? I had one myself before I got married and was fine (and very relaxed), but I have heard conflicting things about massage just before such big event.
Thanks vey much.
Do you mean before the actual ceremony? Why not - as long as the hairdresser hasn't spent hours working miracles!
Hi Kate,
It depends on the type of massage, but if it's just for relaxation then I can't see why it would be a problem.
Invigorating massage can leave the client a bit spaced out and therefore wouldn't be appropriate.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. When I said 'before their wedding day', I meant the day before (sorry should have clarified this).
Why wouldn't it be OK?
and if she has fake tan make sure you don't rub it off!
It is quite usual for 'hen nights' to include pampering packages - i.e.massages, reflexology. I think some beauty treatments may need a few days or more before the big event, such as a facial, but I'm no beauty therapist so will leave that to the therapists on this site.

Weddings can be very stressful ( as well as wonderful!) events so a nice chillout massage a day or so before the event would be just the thing.
Depending on the person and the dress they are wearing some postural work to get the shoulders where they should be can be great too - a strapless dress combined with hunched up, rounded shoulders is SUCH a bad look! (In my opinion anyway although obviously I am NOT Gok Wan 😉 ).
