hi all. I recently came across "massage bars". Does anyone know what they are and know the difference between these and a massage wax/balm?

I have looked at these before, and, as far as I can remember they contained beeswax to make them solid, but melt when applied to a warm body.

I remember two things putting me off them: the high price compared to wax in a tub; and the hygiene consideration - I wasn't sure I'd like to be massaged with a bar that had massaged several others before me!

Ughh, yes, very gross! :020:

I guess if you really wanted to use it you could perhaps slice off a small piece of the bar and rub it between your hands to soften it prior to applying it to your client's body? But I would still be very skeptical if I saw a therapist using a bar like that - I wouldn't trust that it was hygienic.

JMHO
