I have a few people wanting to learn Thai massage in the North East, can anyone recommend a good course/tutor that I can contact to entice them up here to the balmy beautiful NE?

I teach Thai Seated Massage and Thai Hand and Foot Massage.

The main aim of Seated Thai massage is to re-balance the flow of energy in the body using the system of 'Sen' energy lines. These are similar to the meridian energy lines of Chinese medicine but follow the natural contours of the body.
Unlike the techniques used in Western massage, the Thai method uses a rhythmic movement to apply pressure to energy lines and points, together with muscle stretching and compression. Although it is known as massage, it has more in common with Japanese Shiatsu or Chinese acupressure systems.
The benefits of Seated Thai massage include: freeing of energy blockages; facilitating relaxation; a feeling of wellbeing and increase of flexibility in joints. It is especially good for releasing stress and tension, and encouraging relaxation of both mind and body.
The routine you will learn involves manipulation using stretching techniques and gentle pressure along the SEN or energy lines of the body and can easily be adapted for corporate work.
Course Objectives:

  • History and benefits of seated Thai massage
  • Your working environment
  • Code of practice and insurance for therapists
  • Consultation process including contra-indications
  • Contra-actions and aftercare advice
  • Hand positions and terminology for seated Thai massage
  • Seated Thai massage routine
  • Anatomy & physiology for seated Thai massage

This course carries 9 CPD points and is accredited by the Guild of Holistic Therapists.

Is this what you are looking for? If so I would be more than happy to travel to teach this course (I'm based in South Yorkshire).

No, the forum guidelines on advertising on the forums hasn't changed, and promotional posts will be removed. Sometimes it can take a few hours before before promotional posts are bought to the moderators attention.

So we are greatful when members report posts that break the forum guidelines.
