Hi
Interesting article about Thai massage and stroke patients: New Research: Thai Massage Helps Stroke Patients
OK very typically of CAM research there was a small number of participants (n=62) and no mention of a control group, but at least research is occurring and can hopefully lead to more in depth study.
Since I'll been practising Thai, I always felt it was a highly therapeutic intervention providing constantly good results.

I don't do Thai massage but as a massage therapist and knowing other therapists that do this kind of treatment, it's great to see some kind of research going on and proof of the benefits.
Hi
I forgotten about this thread as no one replied. I'm sure other forms of bodywork and massage would be useful. Notice though that herbs were used. I'm not sure if this was external or internal applications. The thing is that Thai is firm and stimulating, and warming herbal compresses are the norm in this form of treatment.
Cheers

Hi Reiki Pixie
Can you please explain the other benefits of thai massage and is it beneficial for the back pain ?
