Hello,

I'm thinking of doing a Thai massage course in Thailand but not sure which school to go to.
Has anyone done a course in Thailand and was it any good? Want to do a week beginners course to get started.
Would love to hear any opinions/experiences.
thanku 🙂

Try doing a course with Asokananda near the region of Chiang Mai he's probably got a website or info re course somewhere on the www if you google his name in.

Hiya Missy
Theres a Thai Traditional Massage school at one of the temples in Bangkok. If you google 'Wat Po Massage' you'll find info on their courses. I think they also have a school in Chang Mai. The course is 5 days, 6 hours a day or 10 days at 3 hours a day. Was just looking into it myself, would love to do a course the next time I venture over that way. It's a beautiful country, I'm sure you'll love it where-ever you decide to take the course. Have fun and let us know how you get on.

I'll second that, Suse... I used to live in Bangkok and the Wat Po (right in the centre of Bkk) had a great reputation - that's the temple with the enormous reclining Buddah, not far from The Grand Palace. And yes, they do have a school in Chiang Mai now. They've got a good website too.

I had a Thai massage once on the beach in Chaweng, Koh Samui - (I'm going back over 15 years so before all the hotelswent up)- it was only£3 from a deaf and dumb Thai gent... it lasted nearly 2 hours and was absolutely awesome! I swear I grew an inch 😀

have fun!

RE: Thai Massage Course in Thailand

Hey,

Thanks for the advice great advice. I will probably go for one of the courses at Wat Po as they seem to have a good rep. Although I have seen Asokananda's recommended on another thread and they sound good too, probably more emphasis on the spiritual side of thai massage. Arghh.. not good when faced with more than one option!
I certainly agree Thailand is a beautiful place and where better to learn thai massage. Suse, let me know if you end up doing a course too and how you get on.
