Hi there, I've just finished doing a VTCT course in body massage and A&P in the UK. Previously I have done a Thai massage course and Thai foot massage course at Wat Po in Bangkok. I was wondering if anybody knows if I can get insurance for both qualifications to practice in the UK. Both are a beautiful treatments and I would like to start using those skills pretty soon. If anyone has any ideas of insurance companies to try I would be so grateful.

Hi JoJo

Welcome to HP 🙂

Most insurance companies usually except Thai massage if you have a bona fide A&P with massage qualification like VTCT.

Try googling "Towergate Insurance".

I personally get my insurance though Embody/CThA being a member.

Towergate are probably a good one to ask, on my reiki course we learnt a special type of reiki 'massage' to promote circulation but not many insurance companies like to provide cover for this, as it's not often taught in western reiki (as far as I'm aware) and involves more physical contact than might usually be involved in a reiki session.... but Towergate are one company that provide cover for this. (I also used to dance with fire props and Towergate provide PLI for fire performers too, which is really difficult to obtain cover for!).

Hope this helps.

You could also try Balens, as they are specialist complementary medicine insurers, and very good in my experience.
