Can anyone clarify for me what exactly is remedial massage?

Is it sports massage, or massage by a physio...

I've never seen a course teaching this, but so many massage therapists in my area seem to be advertising it, and I don't know what it is in relation to the holistic/swedish massage that I do.

RE: remedial massage?

Hi Suebee

Remedial massage therapy is for treating muscular/skeletal dysfunctions, the best place to learn it is the Northern Institute of Massage which is one of the oldest established teaching institutes in the country and gets students coming from all over the world to train there.

You can see their website here it used to be in Blackpool when I trained with them but it has since moved to Bury in Lancashire.

You can do up to four years training with them, it is expensive but sometimes you get what you pay for.

I think there is another good traditional school in London somewhere but not been there so not sure how good they are though?
