Hi guys,
Could Kinesiology be used by remedial massage therapists to accurately diagnose which muscles are causing pain, which are tight, which are weak etc?
Cheers
Henry
RE: Diagnostic tool for remedial massage
Dear Henry
It depends on what branch of kinesiology you study - there are at least 50 being taught in the UK at the moment and hundreds worldwide - they all vary considerably in content.
There are courses available with a considerable amount of training in muscles - Touch for Health Kinesiology, Classical Kinesiology, etc These courses will normally teach you to isolate and test approx 42 muscles and will show you a variety of correction techniques. There are also kinesiology courses like Hyperton-X by Frank Mahoney which are specifically designed to teach people to release hypertonic muscles.
Hope that helps but if you need a more detailed answer please feel free to ask more questions.
Kind Regards
Joyce

Hi happyfingers. I know this is an old post but wondered if you managed to find a kinesiology course that covered muscle testing and releasing from a bodywork therapists approach. I would be interested in doing something similar. :)K
