I have an urgent question regarding public liability insurance ect. I passed my ITEC holistic massage course last year, I have a full time job in an office and I am quite happy massaging friends and family for free, it is more of a hobby. I dont have any insurance whatsoever.
My question is this, I am part of a sports team that will be doing a fundraiser and I said I would love to do some head/shoulder massages for 15-20 mins for 5pound, or whatever they feel it was worth. What insurance do I need for this? It is next month, will I have time to purchase the insurance? Can you get one day insurance? Will the money raised be taxed? Tell me everything you know!

Yes, you will need public liability insurance for anything that involves you 'doing stuff' to the public, especially if they are paying for it. It's there to protect you in case someone complains or accuses you of doing something that has hurt them or cause them injury.
Generally speaking, insurance companies can give you insurance starting from the moment you phone them up, though you'll need to speak to an insurance company as to whether having 1 day insurance would be sufficient especially if the persons complaint arises after the event.
As for taxes of what is earnt from it, if it's not money being raised for charity then it's taxable, but that's up to whoever receives the money. If you are receiving it as payment then you are liable for tax on it and you have to declare it to the tax office. Assuming you're in the UK you would need to fill in a self assesment form and send it to them, which can be downloaded from their website or you can call them to explain your doing self employment work alongside full time employment and they'll tell you want you need to do, and probably send you the relevant forms
