I did (and do) Holistic Massage - physically much like swedish massage. The intention is to work on the mind, body and spirit. The body is straight-forward, the spirit normally follows naturally enough - and the mind sometimes takes a turn for the better too as people are looking after themselves and have thought about their lifestyle in that context following a consultation. Highly recommended.

I think Holistic / Swedish massage is a great place to start. I started with Swedish massage, added Remedial and Hot stone.

The techniques you learn with Holistic massage will form the foundation for other massage techniques you learn.

However, read around the forums about training so you can find a suitable course that meets your needs.

HTH,
Myarka.
