Hi

This is my first post here but I have a bit of a dilemma. Most of you will be familiar with the pamper party idea of treatments where people get together at someone's house and have mini treatments. My sister is planning to have one with her friends and has asked me if I can provide a mini massage to her friends eg hands & feet or hands & face. The issue I have is that clients having alcohol in their system is a contraindication for carrying out massage. They will not be drinking heavily but some will have had a couple of glasses of wine.

I am insured to carry out treatments but during these mini sessions I would not be going too deep and no one would need to get undressed. What do you think?

Thanks

Hi Lamora & welcome

Strictly speaking booze & massage shouldn't mix but there are lots of therapists working pamper parties & chill out areas at festivals. One or two glasses of wine shouldn't be a problem and as you say keep sessions light and not too long (say 10-15 minutes).

Obviously avoid working on anyone who is the worse for wear.....

Cheers!

Hi Jinx

Thanks for your advice. I am not expecting anyone to be too drunk especially not at the start of the evening which is when I would be carrying out treatments. I was thinking about approx 15 minutes and offering either hands or feet (don't think they will want faces done as they will have makeup on).
