Does anyone know of a good baby massage course?
I am interested in both baby massage for me to use with my own baby, but would also like to do training which would allow me to do sessions with groups of parents and babies showing them what to do as well - kind of paying it forward!
The company I have done some great massage courses with recently (Inspire Massage Workshops) offer a pregnancy massage course which I am planning to do in September, but I don't think they do baby massage.
If anyone can recommend anywhere that would be great!

RE: Baby massage
Hi - speak to your Health Visitor about local courses, which are usually run by the PCT or a local clinic. I have just completed a course with my baby. Am not sure about baby massage courses for yourself to learn, hope you find something.

RE: Baby massage
Hiya
I enrolled on a baby massage instructors course with the FHT back in January - the course is running in October and only have 10 places available. So I am not sure if all the places are taken. I know of two ladies doing it and another lady on this forum. But it may be worth you asking if there are other courses being run in your area with the FHT. This particular one is a one day course and you go back for your assessment in December and I assume you do case studies in between times. The cost is £165 and it is FHT accredited and recognised so not a problem with insurance. It is a instructors/teaching certificate. I wish you luck in your search.

I was looking at doing the FHT course but there are no places left ~ which is why I have gone with the International Association of Infant Massage, you can book courses directly through them but they have to paid in full to reserve your place, and they are quite pricey. With gateway workshops I have paid a small deposit and now have till one week before the course to pay the balance. This course is more expensive than the FHT course (a lot more), but it is fully recognised and you canget insurance. It is a instructors/teaching certificate too.

Hi
As far as I am aware the FHT do them regularly and I paid £50 deposit and need to pay the balance about 4 weeks prior to course i think.
Good luck in your search.

RE: Baby massage
Hi,
I trained with the IAIM in 1999, and can highly recommend the courses. its the course that all the health visitors, midwives and Sure Start people do.
the course is very intense and you have a lot of work to do afterwards.
The course is 4 days long.
How long is the FHT's? One day? Well that speaks volumes.
RE: Baby massage
Hi,
I trained with Body Basics in Stratford, London. It was a four day course costing £500. I received a certified qualification and will soon become a member of the Guild of Infant and Child Massage. Check out [link= http://www.blossomandberry.com ]www.blossomandberry.com[/link] for more info on just a baby massage class to go to with your baby. If you can't find a class in your area, then email Gayle berry on that website and she will find one for you.
Good Luck! Baby massage is so amazing, hope you find a class to suit you soon.
