Hi peeps, i,m very new to this site so bare with me;)
I am looking for a baby massage course so i can teach at antinatal classes etc. I seem to be struggling to find a reputable class. I would like to hear from anyone who can recommend a good class.
I live in the Midlands but don't mind traveling too far.

RE: baby massage!
Hi Princess,
Really the only ones I would recommed would be those run by Birthlight (combined with baby massage) or the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) - search both on Google, they both have websites. IAIM run training nationally but Birthlight is in Cambridge.
How would you teach at antenatal classes though? the whole aim of baby massage is to promote bonding with mother and child and if the baby is still a bump then that kind of defeats the object surely?

RE: baby massage!
Hello Sarah, thanks for your fast reply and information. I had already checked these two out and although they seem to be the best I have found yet, I was hoping for one a little closer to home but never mind. (i prefer not to stay away from home as i have a 15 month old) And i must appologise for my mistake, of course you can't teach at antenatal classes but i like your sense of humour.
Mother and baby groups are what i'm looking into and luckily my health visitor is very helpful there.
Take care and thanks again.

RE: baby massage!
Hi Helen,
I took the IAIM course in 1999 and it is superb, it is 4 days intensive training, but they do travela around the country, so ring them and ask when the next course is likely to come to your area.
I live in Durham and I did a course in Newcastle (15 miles away) at the General Hospital. My son was nearly a year, so I found it a struggle, but it was worth it.
Word of caution for you, times have changed since I qualified, and now most health visitors are already qualified and offer classes for free. Also if you have a Sure Start near you, generally they have someone on the team qualified too.
I have gone from running 3 courses a week in 2000-2001 to 1 course every 3 months, because I have so much FREE competition.
But go for it, it is sooo worth it.
RE: baby massage!
Athena School in Willenhall are running a baby massage teachers course starting October 7th & 8th and the second part is 26th and 27th October (have the details in front of me hehe.. although not going on it this time..), not sure if they have places or not. THey also run pregnancy massage courses about once a year, but think that ones gone already. I've done a few courses there and been very pleased. Pm me if you can't find them ih the phonebook.
