Hello All,
I'm after some advice.
I met with the Matron from a care home, she would like me to provide IHM on the patients.
She said I would not need a CRB check as I would not be left alone with a patient.
I thought I would provide 15/20 min pamper sessions every two weeks
Has anyone done this type of thing and how much did you charge?
Any other advise would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Desi Girl.
Not any advice I am aftraid...but does sound like a great opportunity to make a heart connection with elderly. I think they will really enjoy something like that.
Aftyer getting the required checks you should be ready to rock and roll, so to speak...
good luck with it!
Just bumping up - anyone else?

Hi
Depends who is paying, is it the client or the nursing home? Is it a "posh" nursing home or a more run of the mill? How far will you have to travel to it? How many potential clients will you be treating in a day? What would you charge for one off visit or for a group normally? What is the method of payment? Once you have answered those questions, it would be easier to give you some advice 🙂
Best wishes
RP
Hi,
It will also depend on the area of the Country you live in to some extent. I live in a small town in the Midlands which used to have a fair bit of manufacturing, but now has very little. We could never charge the same price as in some towns around us, and nothing like London prices!.
Also, are you doing this to earn a living or as a more 'charitable' cause? If it's the former then it has to be a viable proposition and you'll need to know that either the residents definitely want the service or the home will pay regardless of how many people take up your service. Will you have a booking system (and who will be responsible for looking after it) or will you just a turn up and see? You need to consider these as otherwise you might end up turning up at 1pm for Annie, and then no-one until Mavis arrives at1.45pm, and Lily at 2.30pm, so you've been there for nearly 2 hours, plus travelling time, but only been paid for 3 sessions if the residents are paying individually, or your agreement is to be paid by number of treatments carried out.
A really lovely and worthwhile cause but lots to consider ...
