I am a reflexologist and am training to do Indian head massage. I have been doing my case studies and one of my guinea pigs today asked to lean forward as she sometimes falls asleep. I haven't been trained this way. I use a normal foldable chair and when doing the face I wrap a towel around my clients neck and they lean back on me. Should I be doing it with the client leaning over?

I guess it depends on what the client wants. I normally have my clients sitting in an ordinary chair (I can't get on with a proper IHM chair ) But I have them facing my couch with a pillow on so they can lean forward if they want to....but this is normally only at the end when I have finished.
I can't imagine how I could easily do the whole routine with them leaning forward...unless of course it was on an IHM chair....but even then you have to get them sit up and lean back to do the face.. maybe they are used to a therapist who uses an IHM chair?????
Do what seems right to you and the client.....but obviously mention this when you are writing up your cases....it makes a good reflection point
