As a newly qualified IHM practitioner (the ink is hardly dry on my certificate) I have been looking forward to using it at the hospice where I volunteer. I have one regular lady at the hospice who has Huntington's Chorea. I have been giving reiki once a week for months now, but I channel into her ankles since that is the only part of her body she can keep relatively still. However we know she really enjoys having her legs and hands massaged so it was decided I should try some massage on her.

So last week I tentatively did about 5 or 10 minutes of massage on her shoulders and arms, then finished off with reiki. Today her carer passed on a message from the patients husband that last Tuesday night she was MUCH calmer than normal. And Diane herself really enjoyed the massage and wanted another go. So today she had 10 minutes of massage and 20 minutes of reiki and I am hoping for a good report next Tuesday.

I am SO pleased about this since anything that helps this lady is such a bonus. Had to share since I really am quite chuffed by this 🙂

Hi Tashanie .

I had a done some healing work on a man with parkinsons and had the same issue where they couldn't keep still so to speak ..

I found that healing while holding their hands helped calm the shaking .

Perhaps its worth a try ..

No she cannot keep her arms /hands still. Parkinsonian tremor is minimal compared with my ladies movements. Remember the old name for it is St Vitus Dance'
